“Moderate” Muslims generally point out that Islam condemns suicide. For that reason, they argue that the Islam suicide terrorists guilty of killing scores of innocent people are not ‘true’ Muslims.
ISLAM CONDEMNS SUICIDE
Notwithstanding the fact that Mohammed himself considered suicide when he received his first ‘visions’ from the archangel Gabriel and suffered this as a traumatic experience, he forbade the act of suicide.
The Quran proclaims in verse 4.29. O you who believe! do not devour your property among yourselves falsely, except that it be trading by your mutual consent; and do not kill your people; surely Allah is Merciful to you.
The Hadith/traditions passed on by Mohammed state that the manner in which someone has committed suicide will be replicated forever in hell. Someone who took poison will in hell suffer the continuous sensation of being poisoned anew.
However, who fights on the “path of Allah” and in the process undertakes a suicidal action is not deemed a suicide but rather a martyr and thus guaranteed admission into paradise. This is reflected into the following verse in the Quran:
9.111. Surely Allah has bought of the believers their persons and their property for this, that they shall have the garden; they fight in Allah's way, so they slay and are slain; a promise which is binding on Him in the Taurat and the Injeel and the Quran; and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? Rejoice therefore in the pledge which you have made; and that is the mighty achievement.
In Islamic circles there is uniform consent that a Muslim who combats occupation and in the process carries out a suicide mission is a martyr.
There are, in effect, immigrant organisations in Belgium that support Hamas while it is a known fact that Hamas deliberately stands behind the killing of innocent people by suicidal acts.
